Vaz Rogbeck, eRYT500, CYT1000 (Nov. 1944-Mar. 2010)
Collectively, we mourn the loss of honored teacher and beloved friend Vaz Rogbeck. Vaz passed away March 23, 2010, from complications due to a heart condition.
There was a CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF VAZ, in Tampa at Lowry Park, on May 1, 2010.
Vaz: A Yogi, started practicing yoga in November 1968 and began teaching 1971. He studied Iyengar style during the 1970's, then began practicing and teaching Ashtanga in 1980. He studied Mindful Yoga with Rodney Yee since 1986. Vaz completed David Swenson’s Ashtanga Teacher Training course for the Primary Series and also studied with Ramanand Patel, Bob Smith, Esther Myers, Eric Schiffman, Bryan Kest, Maggie McClain, Doug Swenson, and June LaSalvia.
Vaz was dedicated to Yoga Education and spreading the teaching of yoga around the world with an emphasis on bring Yoga to those who have special needs. Vaz inspired many of the Yoga classes at Stillpoint suitable for all levels from special needs to advanced and teacher training. Vaz's work will continue through all of the teachers he helped train!
